The Ramblers' website The Ramblers' website is an excellent source of information on all aspects of rambling including a "Walks Finder" to locate walks. If you're just getting started, and particularly if you're trying to get more active by walking more on an everyday basis, then visit the Ramblers' Go Walking pages for a wide range of useful advice and information.

RamblersWalkingHolidays As a member of The Walking Partnership, Mid Berks Ramblers (and many other Ramblers Groups) benefit when you book a holiday with Ramblers Worldwide Holidays and their sister organisations, Adagio and Chapters Experience Holidays. Just say which Ramblers group you belong to when booking your holiday.
Walk magazine website Walk magazine is the Ramblers Association magazine.
The Met Office website The Met Office site is a good starting point for weather across the UK.
BBC Interactive weather website The BBC also offers a good reference site for weather information.  For the weather in the south-east click here.
HF Holidays website HF Holidays are the Ramblers' preferred walking holiday partner and have been helping people enjoy the outdoors for almost 100 years. They are a co-operative society owned by their 32,000+ members. The Ramblers are HF Holidays' walking charity of the year.
The Ordnance Survey website The Ordnance Survey is the obvious first choice for maps.  The website includes information on the various mapping products available and, if you want, you can order online.
The National Trust website The National Trust acts as a guardian for the nation in the acquisition and protection of threatened coastline, countryside and buildings.
English Heritage website English Heritage exists to protect and promote England's spectacular historic environment and ensure that its past is researched and understood.
The Natural England website Natural England's purpose is to protect and improve England’s natural environment and encourage people to enjoy and get involved in their surroundings.
Walking for health website "Walking for Health encourages more people to become physically active in their local communities. We support the largest network of health walk schemes across England, offering regular short walks over easy terrain with trained walk leaders. Walking for Health (WfH) was established in 2000 and has stood the test of time. With over 600 local schemes, WfH contributes to improving the health of over 75,000 regular walkers nationwide." website On Walkingworld you can find over 5750 routes, contributed by more than 400 walkers from all round Britain. This huge library of carefully prepared guides means you can find a good selection of walks, of varying lengths and grades, pretty well anywhere in the country. The walks come in a unique format making them very easy to follow, with photographs to illustrate every important decision point and a proper Ordnance Survey map. Note that there is an annual subscription for accessing the walks on this site.

Car free walks website Car Free Walks. "We provide free walks - free of cars and free of charge. All our walks can be reached using public transport - bus and train, coach and ferry. Search for a walk, add your own to the website or check out what's been happening lately."
Walking in England website Walking in England - Thousands of FREE walks to download, details of all the books, maps and walking groups in the country.
Hikideas website Hikideas - Plan a walk using Ordnance Survey maps, or other maps for other countries. Plus lots of walks to download and share.
